In 2007, there was a worldwide vote to declare the new seven wonders of the world. People from over the world voted online, via telephone and via SMS. In Greece, the SMS Platform was used for the SMS Voting. People in Greece could only vote for the Acropolis, and were invited to send an SMS message to a short code. An Opinion VAS was used to record all SMS messages sent by the greek population.

Opinion Value-Added Service

The Opinion Service allows you to receive plain SMS messages and record your users' opinions, comments, questions, feedback, or any other input.

The Opinion service allows end users to send in their opinion about a specific subject. The owner of the service can use this service to record the opinion of the general public and accept questions or answers. The mobile users / participants of the service are invited to participate via a different medium – such as the TV, radio, advertising leaflets, etc. – by sending in their questions, answers or opinions as an SMS message to a short code. These messages are received by the SMS Platform and routed to the specific Opinion service. The owner can then view the incoming messages with the public's views. Finally, the platform interface allows the user to search through the messages and also export them to a number of different file formats.

Usage Scenarios

Opinion Services are usually used by radio station and other shows, that want to receive views and opinions from their public.
